Mariana Lin is a writer and poet who has worked in the field of AI character creation since 2014. She was a creative director at Apple as the principal writer behind Siri for many years. She has also developed AI characters for Hanson Robotics’ Sophia, Bose, BMW and Renault. She has published articles in The Paris Review on creative writing for AI and has given talks at TED Global Summit, UNESCO, and Brighton Literary Festival. She has taught creative writing for AI at Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design, and at University of Zurich. She currently lives between Paris and California, and believes in human creativity over the work of machines.
